FACTS about the

MARCH ON KANSAS CITY

TIME & PLACE

  • March starts at 3:00PM at 12th & Locust St. (arrive by 2:30 p.m.)

  • We will march west on 12th St. to Grand Ave. and then south to Pershing Rd. Then proceed west to the North Terrace of WWI Museum & Memorial

  • Rally will follow the march, ending at approximately 5:00 PM from where persons will disperse (There is no transport for marchers returning to 12th and Locust after march)

  • Parking for marchers near 12th and Locust is not provided (marchers must find their own parking)

  • Inspire persons to vote in November 2020 election

  • End racism and police brutality in law enforcement

  • Honor Civil Rights Pioneers

  • Lift up emerging leaders

AIMS

MOTORCADE & SPECIAL NEEDS​

  • Assembly and line-up for Motorcade is at 2:30 pm on 12th street facing west

  • Persons may register their vehicles to participate in the Motorcade which will proceed behind the marchers

  • Motorcade will offer special access/drop-off at the north terrace near special upfront handicap seating at the WWI M&M

FOOD & BEVERAGE

  • Water will be provided free of charge

  • No food will be provided

  • Your own snacks and beverages are allowed

  • No alcohol or drugs 

HEALTH & SAFETY

  • Masks and social distancing are required

  • Outdoor portal potties will be provided at WWI M&M 

  • Outdoor portal potties will NOT be provided at 12th and Locust

  • Conflict resolution experts will be present

EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE & FIRST AID

  • Ambulatory services and first aid assistance will be available throughout event

COSTS

  • The cost of the march and rally are free

  • Donations will be accepted at the March and Rally on September 4 or by visiting ulkc.org/donate. Be sure to note in additional comments -

"Donation for March on KC"

  • Donations via check (preferred method) should be made out to the Urban League c/o March on KC

SECURITY

  • Marked and unmarked security will be provided throughout event

  • No weapons or firearms
