2022 COMMEMORATION OF THE ASSASSINATION OF

REV. DR. MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR.

SCLC-GKC Black Elected Officials Summit (9).jpg

As part of SCLC-GKC's 50th Chapter Anniversary we are excited to present along with The Urban Summit of Kansas City
and The Entire Urban Council of Kansas City
a Commemoration of The Assassination
of
Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

One of the aims of this In-Person event is to have a dialogue and strategy building session with Black elected officials toward the liberation and repair of Black residents in the urban core of Kansas City.

We will also commemorate the assassination of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. who was shot to death, April 4th, 1968. The dream of Dr. King, an American Baptist minister and activist who became the most visible spokesman and leader in the civil rights movement from 1955 until his assassination in 1968, still lives on in us!

The community is invited to meet and greet Black Missouri elected officials at 5:30 PM.

The worship gathering will begin at 6:30 PM where prophetic voice and
Executive Director of Missouri Faith Voices, Rev. Darryl Gray will be bringing the Word.

Please join us Monday, April 4th, 5:30PM at Jamison Memorial Temple CME,
where The Rev. Dr. Faith Allen is Senior Pastor.

This event is presented by The Southern Christian Leadership Conference of Greater Kansas City as part of their 50th Chapter Anniversary celebration, The Urban Summit of Kansas City, and the entire Urban Council of Kansas City (National Black United Front, NAACP-Kansas City, SCLC-GKC, Urban Summit, and Urban League of Greater Kansas City).
