All SCLC of Greater Kansas City, board members and volunteers led by the Rev. Nelson "Fuzzy" Thompson and Arlana Coleman are to be commended for what many community leaders are saying has been one of the greatest MLK celebrations of all time!
Since the pioneering work of the Honorable Reverend Congressman Emmanuel Cleaver, II, in birthing the local SCLC chapter, many celebrations have taken place spanning approximately 40 years. This year's slate of speakers including Civil Rights icon Julian Bond and contemporary prophetic voice, Dr. Frank Thomas, set the stage for a prophetic call to action by our local leader of Social Justice, Dr. Howard at the mass celebration which took place January 20, 2014 at the Metropolitan Missionary Baptist Church here in Kansas City!
At that venue thousands of Kansas Citians assembled to witness and participate in the rebirth of Dr. King's Poor People's Campaign as we carry on the legacy of peace, justice, equality, and love!
WHAT CAN AND SHOULD YOU DO TO HELP UPLIFT THE COMMUNITY
THROUGH THE POOR PEOPLE'S CAMPAIGN?
